What to check
before buying research compounds
Before you buy, check who tested the batch, whether the certificate matches it, and whether you can read the results yourself. Apply the same questions to us.
1. Who performed the testing?
A certificate of analysis is issued by a laboratory, and the laboratory’s name, certificate number and date are printed on it. Look for them. If a supplier describes testing as “independent”, the certificate should name a laboratory that is not the supplier. Ours do: every certificate on this site carries the issuing laboratory’s own certificate number, and you can open each one and read it.
2. Does the certificate match the batch?
A certificate describes one batch. The batch identifier on the certificate should match the batch stated for the product you are buying, and the batch on the vial you receive. Our product pages state the batch; the certificate page for each compound states the batch it was drawn from; the two should agree, and if they ever don’t, tell us.
3. Can you inspect the actual report?
A summary figure is not a report. You should be able to open the document and see the report date, the method used (ours report purity by UHPLC–MS) and the reported result. A certificate describes the tests reported for that batch; it does not establish suitability for any use, and nothing on this site should be read that way.

Eighteen certificates are published, one for every compound on sale. Nine further compounds in the range are listed but not for sale because their certificates are not yet back.
